Current Governors

All governors serve a three year term. Parent governors are elected by the parent body and when a vacancy arises, this is communicated to parents and an election held. Similarly,
the staff governors are elected by the staff. Co-opted governors are
co-opted by the Trust based on the skills needs within the Local Governing Board.

Pauline Cook
Co-opted Governor

Term of office ends: 06/10/2020

I have been a teacher in Sutton for over 40 years, the last 20 years as a headteacher. I am passionate about education and want to make sure that all pupils are helped to do their best. Now that I’ve retired I have the time to give support to Rushy Meadow and I’ve been a co-opted governor here for three years. The governors have just elected me as Chair of Governors and I’m enthusiastic about the role. I have two grown-up sons and three grandchildren, and do a fair amount of babysitting! I’m also a trustee of Homestart Sutton, a charity that helps families with young children.

My name is Dani and I’m thrilled to be a governor at Rushy Meadow. I have been working in education at different levels from Early Years to Higher Education since 2007. Most of that time was spent as a primary teacher, English leader and Assistant Head in South London schools. Now I have the privilege to work with and develop new teachers in London to help strengthen and support education for children in my local community.

Suzanna Challenger
Parent Governor

Term of office ends: 06/03/2021

Both of my children attend Rushy Meadow and I love our school's positive and proactive approach. Having seen my eldest progress from Reception through to Year 6, supported by the the hard work and dedication of so many members of staff, I am delighted to be able to support the continual improvement of the school. I also work as part of the operational team for Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust, a local specialist multi-academy trust, which gives me a great opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues in education and feed that into my role as parent governor.

I have been at Rushy Meadow since May 2001. I started as a supply and was happy to become a permanent staff member in September 2001.
